Hi Geryl, welcome to VQS, tell us how you fell in love with engineering?
Ever since I was a kid, I love the idea of exploring the space, and be a Filipina astronaut. It’ll take a lot of patience and perseverance. I took up engineering (and I fell in love with that even more!), since I know for sure that it’ll be a stepping stone towards my dream of becoming an astronaut.
I claim that someday I’ll reach that dream through my hard work. It will never be easy, but I know it’s all gonna be worth it.

What new projects are you working on now?
I am currently focusing on doing the things I love and exploring new things that would build a stronger version of myself. This includes empowering people through writing, speaking, and sharing my knowledge and real life experiences. With this, I know I’ll be able to grow and be more confident in achieving my goals and dreams in life.
How do you stay focused and motivated in your craft?
I am motivated with the fact that I am surrounded with people who continuously support me throughout my journey: my family, friends, colleagues, mentors, and of course, God who never fails to bring out the best in me.
Another thing that keeps me motivated is my passion in everything I do.
If you are in love with what you are doing, then you’ll always be inspired and will never lose interest on something you always want to do.
What core values do you believe are necessary for success?
- The core values I believe that are necessary for success are hard work, confidence, perseverance, and your will to lift everything up to Him.
- Without this, you are not gonna get that star you are always dreaming of. Success doesn’t happen over night. Strive hard and do your work with passion and love.
Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?
A lot! But I always consider surrounding myself with people who’ll be able to grow with me, and empower me. I love to work with those people with the same mindset and visions as mine.
What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?
I look forward to a lot of opportunities, like writing more, and doing things related to my profession. I am never closing doors to anything. I love exploring new things, since I know it’ll help me be the best version of myself.
